Cadiz City Division, DepEd is responsible for ensuring the delivery of quality basic education to all learners in the city. The Cadiz City Division is one of the 12 divisions in the Province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. It is located in the northern part of the province and is home to over 400,000 people. The division has a long and rich history, dating back to the early days of the province’s development. It has been instrumental in shaping the educational landscape of the region, and its schools and educators have produced countless successful students and professionals who have made significant contributions to the country and the world. Today, the Cadiz City Division continues to be a vital part of the Philippine education system, providing learners with access to quality education and opportunities for growth and development.

Cadiz City is located at the northern tip of Negros Occidental, 65 kilometers from Bacolod City, the capital of the province of Negros Occidental. It is bounded to the north by the Visayan Sea, and to the east by the City of Sagay. Cadiz City is composed of 22 barangays, 11 of which are coastal including 6 barangays in the Poblacion, while the rest are upland. The urbanized area of the city is composed of 10 barangays. The city has a total land area of 524.57 square kilometers.

Cadiz City is the home of two State-Owned Universities, one (1) college, and one (1) technical school. The Philippine Normal University, Cadiz Branch offers teacher education courses and post-graduate studies. They also have their own laboratory school for elementary and secondary education (PNU Center for Teaching and Learning), and preparatory school (PNU Center for Early Childhood Education). The Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) center has a branch here in the city. It is situated in Barangay Cabahug near the Fara-on Institute. There are three (3) privately owned colleges in the city, the Northern Negros College, Lasalle Tech, and the CEDAR College. The Department of Education (DepEd) Division of Cadiz City has 10 districts for 51 elementary and 18 schools for secondary education (11 Mother High Schools & 7 Extension High Schools). These 69 elementary and secondary schools can be found in the 22 barangays of the city.
